How Does Compressor-Based Air-Conditioning Cooling Technology Work?
To maintain an optimal internal temperature in outdoor environments where the ambient temperature can significantly differ from the desired internal temperature, it is crucial to constantly apply sufficient ACTIVE cooling while dissipating the heat accumulated within the housing due to internal heating and solar radiation.
For example, in the Middle East, where the ambient temperature can reach up to 50°C (Highest recorded air temperature in Dubai is around 52°C | 126°F). passive fan-based thermal management is not sufficient enough for outdoor digital signage. This is because passive fan-based systems rely on the surrounding air temperature to cool the internal components, and in extremely hot environments, the air temperature may not be low enough to effectively cool the signage.
Furthermore, the intense heat from the sun's radiation can also increase the temperature of the internal components, making it even more challenging for fan-based systems to maintain optimal operating temperatures.
The Imotion G7's compressor-based air-conditioning cooling technology provides an efficient way to maintain an optimal internal temperature range of 20-25 ⁰C by utilizing two separate heat exchange bodies.
The upper body features a closed air-loop with a laboratory-like enclosure climate, ensuring that the air surrounding the LCD panel and electronics remains at a constant, cool temperature. The hot air is pushed down through an evaporator, which cools the air before it is circulated back up behind the LCD panel with the help of fans. A small gap between the glass and LCD panel allows for an efficient air loop to be created.
The bottom body is where the HVAC system is integrated, and it features an open-air loop that helps to cool down the HVAC. By using two separate heat exchange bodies, the internal and external compartments are hermetically divided into two separate environments, providing complete protection against all weather conditions.
Additionally, since no outside air enters the internal compartment, there is no need for any sort of air filtration, eliminating the need for air filters altogether. This means that there is no need for air filter changes, providing a cost-effective and low-maintenance solution for outdoor digital signage.
