From Concept To Reality: How Digital Signs Are Made?
We take pride in our work and value customer relationships. The first step in any project is understanding customer needs. This step is crucial even with the simplest projects, where choosing the right technology can mean long-term success or never-ending problems. Collaborating with clients not only allows Infinitus to meet the high expectations of our customers, but also take on creative opportunities that enhance our portfolio. In this short text, we will present one such success story.
In the fall of 2021, we were contacted by Technology Park Ljubljana with a very interesting idea of a digital park dedicated to winners of the “Golden Gazelle Award” for the best fast-growing company in Slovenia. In the center of this digital park would be a custom outdoor LCD totem, as a digital memorial. The design and desired materials were very specific, and the budget was minimal. They sent us a basic sketch and a list of desired materials.
After the initial talk, we choose imotion FLOW technology, which is perfect for a milder central European climate. To lower the costs, they agreed in reusing one of our demo units, which was customized accordingly to the preferences. The main obstacle in developing a custom enclosure was thermal management. Even small enclosure changes can change delicate thermal management, which can result in unanticipated rising costs and a bad experience for both, system integrators and their clients. The main guideline was to develop a reliable and easy-to-adopt solution.
The materials and detailed work are what make this totem special. Totem is structurally assembled from two parts. The display part is imotion FLOW 55 Portrait Wallmount, with a full front glass design. The front site is fully covered with 4+4mm protective glass. Edges of the glass are covered with aesthetic black ceramic print. To ensure that the messages are properly visible at all times professional 2500 high bright LCD panels with an additional ambient light sensor is integrated.
The supporting pillar is manufactured from stainless steel and covered with high-quality brushed stainless-steel plates, which add to the special look of the totem. At the top of the pillar are engraved logos, illuminated with specific LED lights. The idea was to select the LED lights with a specific light specter, which doesn’t create a “bleach” effect on the photos. On the sites are mounted rough stickers with a list of previous winners of the “Golden Gazelle Award” for the best fast-growing company in Slovenia.
Custom totem was placed on a special concrete block. The block contains a dedicated spot, a time capsule with messages of previous winners. All together is installed in the middle of the park named “Park Gazelle”.
